Sightseeing in Mallorca
Palma Cathedral
Palma de Mallorca, the capital city situated on the coast, enchants visitors with its alluring Mediterranean setting and a wealth of cultural attractions. The magnificent Catedral de Mallorca (La Seo) overlooks the Old Port and, even from a distance, appears as a beacon of faith. The monumental sandstone building dates back to the 13th century but was not completed until the 17th century. Visitors are impressed by the cathedral’s 6,600-square-meter interior, featuring a 44-meter-high, ship-shaped nave.
The Old Town of Alcúdia
Surrounded by lush greenery and pine forests, Alcúdia is one of the most picturesque towns in Mallorca. This beautifully preserved medieval walled town is also known for its fascinating historical monuments, delicious cuisine, and traditional festivals. The town is situated some distance from the sea and was fortified to protect against the pirates who posed a threat during the Middle Ages. Of the old city walls, only the Xara and Palma gates, as well as the Renaissance-era Sant Ferran bastion, remain. With its winding medieval alleys and palatial Renaissance houses, Alcúdia has a distinct old-world atmosphere.
Llucmajor Beaches
For anyone looking for a sunny beach vacation, Llucmajor is the perfect choice. Located about 25 kilometers south of Palma de Mallorca, this spectacular stretch of the Mallorcan coast offers many beautiful coves, beaches, and cliffs. The 16th-century watchtowers along the Llucmajor coast offer breathtaking views. The calm waters of El Arenal Beach are ideal for swimming, and part of the beach is a designated surfing area. Amenities include a yacht club, a tourist office, and public restrooms. Beach umbrellas, lounge chairs, and water sports equipment are available for rent.
Top Restaurants in Mallorca for Your Bachelor Party
Merchat 1930: Mercat 1930 is the most exclusive gourmet market in Palma. It’s located on the famous Paseo Marítimo, which means it’s usually frequented by international yacht owners who moor their boats in the nearby harbor. Thanks to the “mini-stalls” that let you hop from one kitchen to the next, there are several great restaurants here. We recommend trying Daniel Sorlu’s oysters with a glass of champagne.
OMBU: Fabulous Ombu lifts the spirits with its fresh take on Mediterranean tapas. Located right at the end of El Borne by the fountain, this street-side restaurant is perfect for a delicious lunch with friends. The menu is designed for sharing, and there’s a fantastic wine list. If you’re in the city center and in the mood for something creative, head to Ombu. Be prepared, however, for a bustling (and rather noisy) street atmosphere.
Sadrassana: Sadrassana is one of our personal favorite restaurants and excels in every way: food, decor, and ambiance. With such a sensuous setting—luxurious wallpaper, vintage mirrors, and sparkling chandeliers—you get a real sense of escapism when dining here — it’s the place to come in the evening to enjoy tapas and wonderful Mallorcan cuisine (dinner only). In addition to the menu, art takes center stage—one of Palma’s most renowned galleries, Galeria Horrach Moya, is located on the upper floor.
Tast: Tast Club is one of those places you walk into and never want to leave. It’s a wonderfully atmospheric hideaway on Calle Sant Jaume, featuring a stylish bar and several dining rooms that evoke the feel of an English members-only club. The Spanish menu is good and worth a try, but Tast really earns its reputation for its ambiance and decor rather than its food. The somewhat hard-to-find location and discreet signage only add to the sense of exclusivity.
Great Bars for a Bachelor Party in Mallorca
La Rosa Vermuteria: La Rosa Vermuterie exudes a charming vintage atmosphere. The two-story bar is located in a narrow alley next to the Gran Hotel on Plaza Weyler. It’s the perfect spot for an intimate gathering over draft vermouth and gourmet tapas. The menu offers a delicious selection of hand-sliced Iberian ham, Spanish omelet, smoked cheese, and high-quality canned seafood.
Gibson Bar: Gibson is the bar next door to La Malvasia on Plaza del Mercat. Its classic decor evokes the atmosphere of an old-style Parisian bar, featuring oil paintings, ornate mirrors, and low-hanging lampshades. It’s a popular hangout for locals and visitors looking to enjoy a good cocktail. Soak up the atmosphere on the terrace with a dry martini.
Bar Flexas: Bar Flexas is a quirky bar that’s very popular with the queer community. It’s located in the Sa Gerrería neighborhood, near the participating bars of the La Ruta Martiana Tuesday Tapas Route. The menu features high-quality, creative Spanish and international dishes. Every July, the small team organizes the glorious Fiesta del Flexas in Parc de la Mar. The event features top drag artists, dancers, and live music until the early hours of the morning.
Door 13: Get a secret code from their social media page to gain entry to this dimly lit, moonlit speakeasy. Door 13 draws inspiration from the 1920s. Think *The Great Gatsby*, with handcrafted cocktails and live swing bands. Settle into the comfortable sofas and enjoy the atmosphere of this unique lounge.
Nightlife in Mallorca
Beach Resorts – Summer Fun: During the summer months, Mallorca’s beach resorts really come alive. In the infamous Magaluf area in the southwest of the island, the streets are lined with bars and clubs catering to those who want to party at any time of the day or night during the high season. Although Magaluf is currently being transformed into a family-friendly resort, there are still plenty of bars that keep visitors coming back. S’Arenal (or Playa de Palma) is also a hotspot for night owls looking to party during the summer months, attracting mainly young Germans. Port d’Alcudia in the north is probably the liveliest place in the area for nightlife. There is a good selection of restaurants at the marina and a cluster of music bars and nightclubs that are very popular with visitors to Avinguda Tucan.
Marinas & Harbors – Luxury Nightlife: Some of the more elegant marinas are bustling with activity during the summer months and typically feature the finest restaurants and bars. The marinas provide a beautiful setting for al fresco dining. After dinner, you’ll find plenty of bars with dance floors to entertain visitors of all ages. Port Adriano, Puerto Portals, Cala d’Or, Port de Sóller, and Port d’Andratx fall into this category.
Fiestas & Festivals – Summer Festivals: In the summer, many towns and villages host fiestas, which typically feature one or two evenings of live music, parties, and fireworks. These festivals are a lot of fun and should definitely be part of your vacation experience!
As a party hotspot, Palma de Mallorca naturally offers plenty of lodging options for tourists.
Airbnb: If you want to make yourself comfortable in your own home, Airbnb is the perfect place for you. Here, you can rent an authentic Spanish apartment and relax in the comfort of your own home.
Hostels: Hostels offer a more affordable option for lodging. Here, you can stay in a shared room with your loved ones and chat until dawn. Use our link to find your perfect deal.
Hotels: Want to wake up to a view of the beach, palm trees, and sunshine? The many hotels in Mallorca offer a complete wellness package, with no upper limit on price. However, there are also options for those on a budget.
